Adding Widget to Post.Info Area of Wu Wei Theme

    Comments and “sharing” are two different things. If you want to turn comments off for a page or a post, do that in the discussion module below the text area in the post or page editor.

    Yep – it was a duh moment. I had them all hidden in my screen options. Grazie!

    Today’s puzzle. Is there a way to add a hyperlink that just moves you to a place further down the page? Or maybe someway to hide text until you click on highlighted words? and it expands. I can do it in word!

    You can use page jumps.

    Hi Sacred Path, I’ve a few questions I wanted to clean up if you can advise:

    1. Haven’t found the right code to move my .main-menu to line up with my header and copy.
    2. Was wondering how I extend the thin grey line before the sidebar(footer) to run all the way across the page
    3. Can I make the background color for the sidebar and the navigation menu a different color than the white of the center column?
    4. Why is the “submit” button on my contact form so small?

    Any help appreciated.
    Patricia

    @makingwordscount
    The “submit” button is not small. I’m using the average screen resolution size. I am visuallu challeneged. When I view your blog the fonts are so large I have to sise the CTRL key and – (munus size) key to reduce the font size on the whole site to one that’s comfortable for me to read. Then I’m faced with a scroll bar across the bottom of my screen as the whole theme has been made wider. I know you probably don’t want to hear this but there are many people out here who do not have desk top large monitors, or who are on laptos, or who are viewing blogs with mobile devices.

    I apologize for the typos above — sorry :(

    Try out this code:

    .menu-main {margin-left:189px;}
    .full-column {background-color:#eee;}
    body #footer-widgets {border:none; margin:0 auto; width:62em; padding:1em 0 0;}
    .center-column-sidebar {position:absolute; left:0; width:100%; background-color:#eee; border-top: 1px solid #D1D9DC;}

    You might want to reformat the first text widget in your sidebar area as the copyright information looks a bit messy. You’ll definitely have to show the regular footer as hiding the attribution text (wordpress home and theme links) is against the Terms of Service and could get your blog suspended. Alternatively you could just include these links in one of those widget areas.

    Thank you Timethief and Hallluke. I appreciate the critiques and advice. I have a 13″ macbook and always think the fonts looks small and no scroll bar visible – maybe I’m visually challenged and don’t realize it.

    Hi Hallluke, your suggestions worked perfectly. Many thanks.

    I deleted all the width changes I made and hopefully my site looks better in IE.
