Adding Widgets

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I am using the Twenty Eleven theme and my widgets page looks different than before. I placed a document called widget look in my media area so you can take a look at how it used to look before and how it looks now. My blog is http://worldaccordingtogarg.wordpress.com. You used to be able to drag the widgets to the widget area before as in the first screen capture and now I am not sure how to use this configuration which is my second screen capture in the document called widget look. Is there something I should be doing in terms of settings to get the other look back? Thanks.

Click on the ‘Screen Options’ link located on the top right hand corner and then click on ‘Disable accessibility mode’.

Let me know if that helps.

    Dear kardotim,
No that did not work. I also tried to add widgets from the Customize menu in the main page and it is not showing the Archives I added. What widgets are showing are those added a while back when the menu looked like it was supposed to and you could drag the widgets to the appropriate areas to incorporate them into the site.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Google Chrome?

Thanks kardotim. Using google chrome helped and I was able to add my widgets from there. I was using IE 11. Any reason why it doesn’t display the same way and work the same way in IE? It didn’t work even after clearing the cache in IE. Thanks for your help.

I’m not exactly sure why, perhaps you could try to reset IE 11 using these instructions: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737
