I have the same problem, would like to use Google analytics.
My research/testing indicated it’s not currently possible on WP.com blog, but obviously if there is a way, I’d like to know.
Thanks

Searching before posting sis recommended so you don’t waste your valuable time.WordPress.com Stats entry in support docs > http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#additional-info
Note we cannot install Google Analytics on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. There is no upgrade here aside from your blog being accepted into VIP hosting that allows you to run Google Analytics.This is a multi-user blogging platform. Our blogs share a common architecture. We bloggers cannot access metadata on free hosted WordPress.com blogs and install any tracking code, we have no FTP access and we cannot install any plugins.
FTP access, and plugins are available only for VIP bloggers http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/ or for those with WordPress.ORG installs. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
You will need to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set you your own WordPress.org software install to install any plugins.
P.S. @doncraisma
Stop posting the signature links at the bottom of your comments in forum threads. Here that’s considered to be spamming and Staff have to go behind you are remove them. Your username is linked to your blog and that link is enough. -
@sourabhsurana
We cannot post JavaScript for security reasons. Doing so simply means the software strips it out.

@raincoaster
Hi there,
Good to know. Comments made more than 5 minutes apart happened twice to me yesterday and it was freaky. -
@visiondoubletake
@doncharismaIf you wish to supplement the stats tracking we have from WordPress.com you can us non-JavaScript third party visitor tracking. Scroll down my Popular Posts page to “Visitor Tracking” to locate some options.

@timetheif, I’ve already been politely berated by @raincoaster for the same faux pas, not my intention to be a rule breaker. I don’t agree that a genuine participant is spammy in providing genuine contact links, but rules are rules. I ‘ve seen how hard you guys work in here, so don’t want to cause extra workload. As I’ve had to be in here anyway, and could see you guys are busy I’ve tried to help answer a few questions, where I can:)
The JS for Analytics would go in a secure widget designed for that purpose and Analytics works on shared server. I know this because I’m sharing on http://DonCharisma.com, and I get my dose of stats no problem. However I do appreciate I don’t know all the factors.
Perhaps you could pass this on as a requested enhancement to WP.com or let me know where I can do it?
I had chat with one of the WP.com support bosses yesterday, and I say the same to you, you guys do an awesome job, I’m incredibly impressed with how friendly and helpful the people in support at WP.com, it’s a joy to behold, thank you:)
Sincerely
Don Charisma

It has been requested hundreds, if not thousands of times. I don’t see staff changing their minds any time soon.
-
It’s not a biggie, Analytics has yet to give me anything useful for any of my other websites, just mainly interested to learn more about it.

Good so this thread is now resolved and we can focus on ones that cannot be resolved by a simple search like this one.
