Adding widgets to Blask Theme
-
Hi,
I can’t seem to add a search widget to this theme. There’s a widget option but no matter which widgets I add, they don’t show up anywhere on the page. How do I change this? I only have a Personal account so I can’t see the CSS.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the site any and all widgets can be added or removed here
https://protestdesign.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php
Also, note that widgets have visibility settings that determine which pages they will be displayed on. See: Widget Visibility https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility
Every theme has a detailed theme description page and this one is at https://wordpress.com/themes/blask/ That’s where set up instructions for it and the live demo site is found.

Hi @sophiecalhoun!
It looks like there’s a Widget Visibility on those widgets that isn’t fully configured.
Right now it says “Show if…” but nothing else is filled in, so the widget isn’t being shown.
If you’d like the widget to appear whenever that widget area is used, you can open My Site > Customize > Widgets and remove the visibility setting (those are optional).
If you’d like to control which pages the widget appears or does not appear on, fill in the rest of those settings to trigger the widgets in the right places :)
