Adding widgets to headers

  I have designed a website using the ‘Suits’ theme. It looks great but I want to add a text widget to the header. Unfortunately, the theme only seems to let me add text widgets to the side bars and footers. Do I need to create a child theme to amend it? If so, how? And can I format the text in the widget?

  Is this about thornettpsl.com? If so, that site is hosted by Bluehost, not by WordPress.com.

  Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, we can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
