Adding words to dictionary

Hello. The first thing I did was search the forum (in Support) for my problem, which I found. Timethief simply responded with Ask staff, which leaves me completely in the dark. I truly tire of adding, adding, adding words to my dictionary. Either it doesn’t work the way I imagine – which would mean we could use some plain English about it – or I’ve got a glitch. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
*I have no idea what I was suppose to expect in the step before this. There was a request for us to ask our question, and zero indication whether that was a live chat or what. I entered exactly the above question and saw no button to ‘send’. Nothing. Enter just made a page break. What the heck!

While we don’t allow users to add words to the dictionary you can add a word to the ignore list so these words don’t show up as errors as stated here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/proofreading/
In order to add a word to the ignore list please view the section under Ignored Phrases.
