Adding/inviting to private blog

  I have gone over the information provided regarding how to add users to private blog, but need some clarification regarding those invited just to read/view blog NOT a user.
  When I add those who can be invited (35 limit) and I put in a user name, how will they be notified as there is no field to send out an email unless you are adding them as a user?
  Do I send out an email with the blog address to them?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi. Yes, you add their usernames as indicated here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/#to-add-a-user-to-your-private-blog

  To my knowledge, they won’t be notified that you added their username.

  Just added a user to a blog I just set to Private – the existing WordPress.COM user did get an email. No opt-in or anything – just a “you have been added” so they do know they were added and there was a link to the blog they were added to.

  It’s a group effort and it all works in the end.

  I did not believe that WordPress.COM would add someone without some sort of notification.
