Additional Blog

When you have second WordPress blog, a link appears at the top left of each blog that links viewers to your other blog. I don’t want this link to exist. I don’t want viewers to be able to go from one blog to the other. How can I have two blogs for which there are no links from one to the other, except for my own use?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi-
I’m not seeing a second blog link in the top left of your site. Are you referring to the My Sites menu?
If that’s the case, since you are logged into your Dashboard, you are the only that can see that.
Hopefully this is what you’re looking for.

I had a second blog, but then deleted because of the link. Now I’d like to start another second blog, but without the link. How do I do this?
-
Try adding a new site to your account.
Simply click on My Sites in the top corner in your WordPress.com Dashboard, then select Switch Sites. After you’ve done that, select Add A New Site.
Here is a link with full instructions:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/create-a-blog/That should essentially create a new site for you. Let me know if that works.

This is my third attempt to get an answer here. I already know how to set up a second blog! That is not my question. The question is, how do I remove the link that exists on one blog to the other blog? My question concerns the LINK! I would like there to be no possible connection for viewers between the two blogs.
-
Hi,
Just wondering did you add your 2nd blog again? If not, can you please add it then I can see if the link shows up on my end. Also if you can do a screen shot that would be great.
Also, just to clarify was it just a link to the to the other blog? Or was it a bar at the top that allows you to access your Dashboard and other sites, just making sure.
Thanks

No, I haven’t recently added a second blog, because I’m hoping to first get an answer on the forum to my question. When I previously had two WordPress blogs, I signed out to see whether or not the link was still visible, and it was.
I may create a bogus blog for the time being to see if I can find a way of eliminating the link, and then delete the blog after I’ve found an answer.

@thefullnessoftruthapostolate to reiterate what @socalthrills said earlier, when you have more than one site, we will show you a bar at the top that links the two together.
Your visitors will not see that. It’s just your own admin toolbar, there for your own convenience. So when you add a second site, you will see admin tools that let you navigate between them, but your users won’t see cross links unless you add them yourself. If that that black admin bar at the top isn’t what you’re referring to, please send a screenshot of the page you are referring to and we’ll take a look.

One thing to consider is that if both sites are under the same user account, your display name will be the same on both sites. If you don’t want that, you’ll need to create an entirely separate user account for your second blog.
-
Now that could be an answer. So, I can create two different unassociated blogs if I do so from two different email addresses?
-
No, that doesn’t work. From any email address on the one computer, I’m still logged-in to my WordPress blog.

That’s correct. You can register a separate WordPress account with a different email address, and create a new blog in that account.
That will allow you to have two separate blogs with two separate usernames/email addresses.

You said,
“So when you add a second site, you will see admin tools that let you navigate between them, but your users won’t see cross links unless you add them yourself.”
That’s helpful. Perhaps the inclusion of that link is the default setting? Anyway, how do I disable the link, because I didn’t know how the last time around.
-
Hello again, please be clear on this.
If you create 2 separate username accounts, you must log out of one account before you can log into the other account.
-
I’ve logged out of my WordPress blog. When I try to register using the same computer but under a different email address, this message appears:
“Choose a different email address. This one is not available. If this is you log in now.”
-
It sounds like the email address you’re entering is already being used in a WordPress.com account.
If you’re not sure what the password is for that account, you can click the “Lost your password?” link when trying to log in. A password reset email will then be sent to that email address.
-
@thefullnessoftruthapostolate do you have another email account?
And Jen is right; the black bar links will not be visible. But the usernames will be the same on both sites, so if it’s import for you to seem like to two totally separate entities, a second email address may help. Several providers like Gmail offer addresses for free.
Just be sure you keep access to that email. :)

I have two email addresses, but only one is used for my WordPress blog. When I switched to the other email address, the above message appeared.
It seems I can’t do what I’m trying to do and must use another blog site. It’s a shame because I really like WordPress.

@thefullnessoftruthapostolate if you’ll post both email addresses here, I can check them for you. They won’t appear to anyone but staff.
