Additional Blog

I am helping a new client. How do I go about adding a blog to an existing site? She had someone design the site initially, and he used a plug in to design it (elementor). So, do I use that editor to add a blog/page? Or do I create the blog through wordpress? Thanks for your help!

  • Hello there,

Is saltandlightsocialmedia.com the one you need help with? Since it’s hosted on WordPress.org, it’s outside our scope of support here at WordPress.com. For assistance, you can contact your hosting provider or seek help in the WordPress.org forums.

You can add the blog through the WordPress editor, and here are a few tips:

Create a New Page for Your Blog:

    1. Go to your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Navigate to Pages > Add New.
    3. Title this page something like “Blog” and publish it.

Set the Blog Page as Your Posts Page:

    • Assign the Page for Blog Posts:
      1. Go to Settings > Reading.
      2. Under the section “Your homepage displays,” select “A static page.”
      3. Set the “Posts page” to the “Blog” page you just created.
      4. Save your changes.

    Create Blog Posts:

    • Add New Posts:
      1. Go to Posts > Add New.
      2. Write your blog post, add images, and format it as you like.
      3. Publish your post when you’re ready.

    Organize Your Posts:

    • Categories and Tags:
      1. Use categories and tags to organize your blog posts.
      2. Go to Posts > Categories to add new categories.
      3. Use the tags feature within each post to add relevant tags.
