Additional Email Notifications

  We have a large family sharing a blog and I was wondering if there was any way to set it up so that each time there is a new comment they will all get an email notification so they will know to get on the blog and read it.

  There is no way to be notified of comments that I know of. Your family can subscribe to the comments feed which will be at http://blogname.wordpress.com/comments/feed/ .

  Not true if you made the blog private for your family members only to see. Then feeds are not possible. So if you want a large community of friends to share their intimate memories without the world to see them, you have to leave wordpress.

  This could be in the IDEA section. WordPress.com could offer subscription/newsletter kind of thing for any persons on the internet to email subscribe to a blog!

  You can set-up the RSS Feed of your blog in iContact http://icontact.com

  You can then tell your RSS Feed to automatically send an e-mail to all your contacts whenever a new post is added to your feed. iContact will then send an e-mail with the full text of the new post to everyone.

  You can also do this with other RSS Feed providers.
