Additional page/post on menu

  I am trying to organise my pages for a static site (static at the moment, I may add a blog component later). There appears to be a page which I cannot get into to change! It appears to be the landing page so, annoying. It doesn’t show up as a page or a post for alternations. It does show in the menu but I can’t seem to edit from the menu section. I am sure there is something I am just not getting. Any relevant information appreciated. Thanks.

  I tried to add a post, thinking this would help. Now the landing page appears to be the post, but this post has not representation in the menu. The menu on the dash board has only one page but on the actual site has 2 but they are the same. WTF????
