Additional Pages with Multiple Posts

I am interested in trying to set up a wordpress.com blog with one main blog page and then additional pages that also allow multiple posts. In other words, I would like to be able to create non-static additional pages.

    The site at http://fbcskowhegan.org/

has something like what I am looking for, in that the last four categories (sermons, photos, events, our psalms) are all information that add a post and move the old post down and have space for comments with each post.

Is it possible to do something like this with a wordpress.com blog?

    Thank you for your help.

You cannot have more than one running posts page on a wordpress.com blog. Only one page will automatically update as your designated “posts” page.

What you are describing is not a blog but a website. However, there is another alternative. You can download a free blog template from word press.org and either self host or hire a web host. Then you could hack the template to suit or hire someone to do that for you.

I too wanted to have multiple pages with multiple posts on each, but the disadvantages seem to be : no tagging on pages; most recent posts end up below later ones; sites that post the first few lines of my posts won’t do so with these posts; seems like people don’t click on separate pages that often.

Also: Somehow when I first put up my blog, I made “About” a separate page–but it is also my home page. I am thinking of deleting one of them, the “About” page, but I am scared to death to do this, as I’m not sure if it will take out all the links to my posts.

I have no idea how or why that picture of me got into the above comment. Do you?

Open the About page you made and edit it. Copy and paste the contents into the About page that came with the blog. Then go back and delete the one you made.

Yes, on your Profile page in your blog you uploaded an image to be used internally in wordpress.com as an avatar.

I too am interested in the same thing. I don’t mind using my own host and wordpress.org.

Can anyone help me with the hack?

You’d need to go to WordPress.org to get help with hacking the software.
