Additional questions about Domain Mapping

  Hi!
  I have read the info about Domain Mapping in the Support 24/7 section, but still have some questions.
  This is my current situation: my company’s website is http://www.daniels.com.hk. This domain is registered in Hong Kong. The host company is also in Hong Kong. I used wordpress to design a new website (its URL is http://www.lincolnjloo.wordpress.com).
  These are my questions:
  When I map http://www.daniels.com.hk to lincolnjloo.wordpress.com:
  — this means that when viewers click http://www.daniels.com.hk they will see the design and the content in lincolnjloo.wordpress.com?
  — wordpress becomes the host company of http://www.daniels.com.hk?
  — do I need to inform the host company in Hong Kong ahead of time or does my current company website simply disappears once the mapping is done?
  — I receive and send emails through this same host company in Hong Kong. How will I send and receive emails after mapping is completed?

  Correct on the first two accounts.

  There’s no need to notify your current host. Your site will still be there, but the domain will no longer be pointing at it.

  If your host provides MX records for their email, you may be able to keep the current email by entering those MX records in your custom DNS panel here. We can’t support all email configurations, so you may need to use Google Apps for Domains instead: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/
