  Is there a way to add additional users to my blog without them having to have blogs of their own on wordpress?

  You bet! Just head over to your Admin => Users and add their email address that they registered with wordpress.com to add them as a contributer of your blog.

  I suppose my question would have been more aptly worded as, how do other users register with wordpress without creating a blog of their own? It seems to only allow users to register through creating a blog…

  When you register, there’s a tickbox to decide whether you want to register WITH a blog or without. Are they not seeing this?
