Adelle theme's Twitter/Facebook/Pinterest icons broken
-
Suddenly today the four little Twitter/Facebook/Pinterest/YouTube icons on the top right, over the widgets sidebar are no longer cute and perfect. They contain the name of each site and seem to be thumbnails that weren’t even cropped correctly. The links still work, but it’s strange that suddenly the appearance has changed.
Is this a sudden bug in Adelle? If it cannot be fixed, what can be done to remove the (now) ugly icons? Thank you for your help in advance.

They aren’t “broken” the template has been changed by Themes Staff.
See here http://adelledemo.wordpress.com/
All blogs wearing the same theme here at WordPress.com are using the same underlining template and only Staff can access and edit it. When they make a template change it affects every blog wearing the same theme.See here for details on purchasing the annually renewable custom and using CSS editing to change appearance:

Thank you for the quick response.
But isn’t that a little odd that “Themes Staff” now wants me to ask people to go to “Faceboo” or “YouTu” after a year of just showing them an F and a bird? (That didn’t come out right.) :)
I mean … seems like they actually broke it, as I’m not sure who would want icons that look so crappy and cut off the words.
I own the custom CSS package. If you see my blog, you’ll see that right away. If you have any ideas of how I can remove the new crappy icons through CSS code, I’d appreciate them as they are extremely unprofessional as of today.

Thank you. I appreciate your prompt assistance a lot and look forward to Themes Staff returning the Adelle icons to their former cuteness.

Looking forward to hearing how to resolve this. Happened to my site too. It looks terrible.

Same with mine! I don’t understand why this is happening…. Do we have to purchase the theme now? I hope this gets fixed soon because I get a lot of traffic to my site. Any helpful comments would be appreciated.

I found how to remove the Facebook button. Go to Appearance > Customize > Theme options > and remove the link of whatever service you want: Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Then you can add the other Facebook, Twitter, etc. buttons from Settings > Sharing that work fine :)

Thanks. I had forgotten that. I deleted my links and it pulled them off … only I really hope they get fixed eventually, because I liked them so much.
But mine don’t function as “sharing” buttons. They went to my FB page and Twitter account etc., so people could follow me there. I don’t think the sharing settings will help me. Anxious for WP to fix it.

Yes, please let me know how this turns out – I really dislike the new buttons – they don’t look right at all. Also, it seems like the bottom of the posts have changed as well – the sharing buttons are bigger, and there’s a line that goes only half-way across the top of them. It looks sloppy – I really like the way the Adelle theme was, but I’m thinking about changing my theme because it’s not as clean and simple as it was just a few days ago. Thanks for any resolution that comes of this! :o)
