adjusting font size???

    Is there a simple way to just increase the font of type on a page? I see options to turn the font into “Heading 1” “Heading 2” “Heading 6″… etc. But I don’t see font increase options. Am I missing it?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi. You can manually increase font size in a post or page. Here are some tips:

    Otherwise, with the CSS upgrade and some knowledge of the CSS language, you could increase the size of all Headings 1, 2, etc.

    In case it isn’t clear from his answer, what he is saying is that you could use inline CSS in the HTML editor in the middle of your posts/pages to adjust the font-sizing.

    However, you’d have to do it on every single page or post.

    You’re better off (assuming you post frequently) to find a theme with a larger standard font (or smaller – whatever you are shooting for), or to pay for the CSS upgrade where you can make an adjustment to the text across all pages/posts via one line of CSS (essentially beginning to make a custom theme).

    Keep in mind that a font may look small or large to you on your machine, but look significantly different on other operating systems and browsers (since they are inherently dependent on the fonts used on each user’s system). Assuming you enable the “mobile” theme under theme Extras, you’ll have almost no control over how a mobile device will display the font sizing.

    In other words, assuming it’s reasonable readable and it’s a WP.com theme, you are probably fine. Most power users like me will just adjust the font-sizing (Ctrl-+) on my monitor if some theme is too small for my old eyes to read (assuming I really want to read the article to begin with). Half the time, I’m reading the post in Google Reader anyway and the user’s fonts have no bearing on the text at all. So, you don’t have to spend a lot of time manipulating fonts these days as you (realistically) have little control over how the end user will perceive them.

    However, it’s understandable if you just need to alter the size in one area. I had one theme I liked, but it really had the line-spacing way too tight in blockquotes. So, I just suffered through it and would occasionally remember to manually insert CSS in the HTML editor prior for my blockquotes. I eventually just found a better theme though.

    @bobwiley22
    airodyssey already provided the correct information above and I’m just adding this for you as I am visually challenged.

    There are some easy keyboard shortcuts you can use to increase or decrease the size of text on any web page you view by making adjustments to your browser. The instructions vary from browser to browser please see here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/19/how-to-change-font-text-size-in-your-browser/

    If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, oncluding h=changing font families, colors and sizes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.

    Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.

    If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

    If you do purchase the upgrade please read this post before your start CSS editing > http://csswiz.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/if-you-have-the-wp-com-css-upgrade/
