adjusting ginormous rebalance header image *without* CSS??

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi – this has been raised before on this forum, although the answer (get a business plan) isn’t going to work for me currently.

I’m starting this site so I can eventually gain a little extra income, so I’m not exactly in the position right now to be paying even £4 for the personal plan (yes, really!). I will progress to paid plans, as my budget allows – just not right now.

I love Rebalance as a theme, but the hugeness of the header image seems like a major design flaw. It (ironically) throws off the balance of every post, and seems like a basic feature you should be able to tweak – even on a basic plan.

Any thoughts on how I can change the header image size to something a bit less in-your-face?

    Thanks :)

  • Hi there,

This kind of modification can only be made with the use of some CSS code. CSS code can only be used in the Premium, Business, and eCommerce plans. You can read more about this here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/

If you decide to upgrade we can provide you with the necessary CSS code.

So if you can’t afford to upgrade you’re stuck with a massive header image?? :-/

Sorry, but that seems a bit unfair, to be honest.

If you can can adjust size and crop in something as simple as say – MS paint, why not WordPress?

I mean, doesn’t that seem like something people should be able to do on the free plan?

Not at all. Each theme is unique. Find one that suits your needs from the showcase at https://wordpress.com/themes/
