adjusting image borders

    It looks like the features I have control over when adding images have changed. I used to be able to adjust the border (i.e. white space) around images I added. Can I still do this?

    Here is a post I created before the recent change. I adjusted the vertical borders for each book jacket image so that there is white space — no text — below the images.

    How can I achieve the same look now?

    Hi Amy, yes they’ve changed with the recent update to WordPress. We’re getting a lot of feedback about this – like yours – so our team will be looking into it.

    At the moment, the only way to adjust the border on images is to edit the html of the image. You can do this by going into the Text Editor (the tab called “Text” next to “Visual” on the right hand side) and adding this to your image tag:

    style=”margin-top: 30px; margin-bottom: 30px;”

    You can change that 30 to whatever you like. A sample of what this would look like is this:

    <img class=”alignnone size-large wp-image-16813″ style=”margin-top: 30px; margin-bottom: 30px;” src=”http://delightfulchildrensbooks.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/dsc_01211.jpg?w=640″ alt=”5 Comic Strip Anthologies for Kids” width=”640″ height=”383″ />
