Adjusting picture dimensions
-
Hi – To proporitonately resize a picture, I used to be able to go to the Insert/edit image button and just enter a size in one of the dimensions while leaving the other blank. Now it forces me to change both.
I tried clicking a corner of the picture and dragging, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do that and guarantee that the proportions won’t change.
Thanks!

What browser are you using homerj1? Have you tried it to compare with a different browser? Do you have the visual editor turned on in Admin => Profile ? Does it help to clear your browser cache?

I find the easiest way is to open the photo in whatever photo program you have on your computer and resize it in there and just input the numbers into the html on WP… just make sure you’ve clicked the “constrain proportions” in the photo program.
In PhotoShop you click on Image >> Resize >> Image Size.
In “Microsoft Photo Editor” it’s Image >> Resize.
You don’t have to upload the image again, just get it into the photo software and use the program to make sure the dimensions are correct.

If this is a big problem for you that you need on a continual basis you may want to try using FireFox 2.0.0.4 and the reason being that when I use it and insert images into a post I can drag the corner of the image and it resizes itself proportionally on the fly.
