Adjusting Themes
-
I was wondering if there was any way to adjust the wordpress themes. There are a few small changes that I would really like to make, but I’m just not sure how to make them. It seems as if there is almost no customization as far as the themes are concerned.

zordon – When you established a blog with WordPress.com you received a confirmation email with a link to FAQ’s in it. If you had used this link before you began blogging then you would have read that we are not allowed to make any “small changes” to the templates we all share. This is for security reasons. If you were allowed to hack then I would be allowed to hack and because we are all on a shared platform we would hack ourselves right into oblivion.

You have chosen the Blix theme and therefore you can customize your header. The FAQ covers how to do that.
You can customize your sidebar using widgets this is covered in the FAQ too.
There are two forum threads on the Blix theme for you to consult here http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=2744&replies=16 and here http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=2774&replies=6
(1) You cannot alter your template code at all.
(2) You cannot post any form of advertising on your blog.

I’s always cool to consult the links to FAQs and the forum threads like the ones I’ve given you above and to to try to solve your issues before posting on the forum.
Welcome and happy blogging. :)
