Adjusting to fixed toolbar
-
This was recently announced: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2014/07/29/wordpress-update/.
A nice feature, but it made my life harder in some ways, since I tend to write long posts. I posted this in the comments on that, but it hasn’t cleared moderation for some reason, and I was just wondering if there is an answer….
“Really glad for the fixed toolbar, but….
I used to be able to preview from anywhere in my (typically long) posts. Now, I have to scroll all the way up to get the preview button.
I used to be able to scroll through my post upon completion, adding tags as I was reading through. Now, I have to scroll through, find content that reminds me to add a tag, then scroll back up to add the tag, then back down to my spot to continue my journey through….
Any way, with the fixed toolbar to make these easier? The tag thing particularly bugs me…”
Really, I’m finding more things like that. The fixed toolbar seems less than ideal for editing long posts. Or at least, as it is currently constructed. It used to be that I could scroll the entire screen down, or scroll down through my post without scrolling the entire screen, so the sidebar stayed constant. Now, scrolling down always scrolls the sidebar, too, which means it is gone long before you get to the bottom of a long post.
Is there any way to change this?

Many bloggers consider Removing the scrollbar from the post editor to be one of the worst “improvements” yet. Post to the main thread here please https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/removing-the-scrollbar-from-the-post-editor-one-of-the-worst-improvements-yet/page/13?replies=368
