Adjusting width of container

  Hi,
  I am hoping someone can help me adjust the width of the container on my site. It is 900 pixels, I want to make it 1000 pixels wide.

  if you look at the site lizkalil.com, that would make the container as wide as my header. I tried to do this by uploading a larger (1000 pixel) back-container image into the data-base but it just screwed up the layout which stayed at 900 pixels wide.

  Hi David,

  It looks like your current theme has different default widths depending on the browser window size (so that it looks good on tablets and smartphones).

  The container width is either 1040px, 780px or dynamic (for desktop, tablets and phones respectively) and the main content section is either 676px, 507px or dynamic. You can see what I mean just by making your browser narrower and watching everything jump to new positions on the page.

  Which section specifically are you trying to change to be 1000px wide?

  Hi hallluke,

  Thanks for your response, I really appreciate you looking at this.
  I am helping a friend work on her wordpress.

  I am trying to add a border of 50 pixels to each side of the container shoulder?…(900px wide). The header image, with the clouds is 1000 pixels wide. The proportions of everything are good but would I like to add a 50 pixel border of color to each side of the entire grey area, (container?) below the header image so that it ends up lined up and the same width as the header image.

  I don’t see any header image with clouds – I see a full width image of a field with a building on the left and a row of trees. Are you sure you linked to the correct site?
