    Hello,

I am making a website for a class I teach. I want my students to be able to decide on the design and logo for the site, but I want to maintain the full admin role after they do this so I can keep the site. How can I do this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Please take a look at this support document. You have a few options to choose from.

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/

Best of luck to you and your students.

Thank you. I took a look and am still confused–can the editor make decisions about designs/pictures/etc? I want my students to choose these things but I want to remain in control of the website.

I think the best option would be to keep yourself as administrator, that way you have full access to the site. From there, you would determine which roles you would like your students to have.

Within that link it states this:

Editor – has access to all posts, pages, comments, categories, tags, and links.

Author – can write, upload photos to, edit, and publish their own posts.

Then it states that each user role is capable of everything that a less powerful role is capable of. (In others words, Editors can do everything Authors can do, Authors can do everything Contributors can do, and so on.

An Editor would be the next highest role after administrator, then so on.

    Does that help?

Thank you. Can editors change the themes and colors? I want them to be able to do that.

You’re welcome. I believe only the administrator can make those changes. You could create another adminstrator role for student(s). However, they will have the same control as you would have.
