Admin bar covering the header on WordPress.com News Blog

    Howdie!

    Last week I noticed that the black admin-bar was covering the header on your blog page: https://en.blog.wordpress.com/

    I was expecting this to be fixed by now, but it’s still there.

    You can see it on this screenshot. This was in Safari, but it also happens in Chrome:

    I think the header is missing a logged-in class on that particular page. But I haven’t looked into it, since you guys are the experts and I can only stand in awe of your knowledge. :)

    (By the way, I apologize if this isn’t the right place or if this has already been reported.)

    Hi @michaelvandenberg, can you tell me more about your environment? I’ve tested in Safari and Chrome (latest on both) and I don’t see this. I’ve also resized my text in both browsers to see whether that would affect things, but it didn’t. Any more insights you can give would be great. Thanks!

    Oh, also, if you mouse over where those links on the right would be (in the blue area), can you see the hover effect? Just curious as to whether those buttons are coming through for you at all.

    I am on an old Mac Mini with OSX Yosemite and the latest versions of Chrome, Safari (well the latest version on Yosemite that is) and FireFox. I’ve a few plugins installed on Chrome (AdBlock, Ghostery, 1Password), but since I have the same problem on Safari I think it’s unlikely that’s the cause. On the other pages (Features, Support, Forums) there doesn’t seem to be a problem.

    But I was just about the look into it and it seems to be fixed now.

    The only thing that has changed (as far as I can tell) is this: 

    body.loggedin .wpcom-header {
    margin-top: 32px;
}

    Maybe you fixed it? Or maybe it was me all the time? Strange! :P

    Maybe you had a version that was cached. That would explain why I couldn’t duplicate it here. I’m glad it’s working for you now!
