Admin bar not showing up for Author or even Admin role

So we are switching over to a WordPress site for our members from another generic database site. We use Memberpress if that matters at all
Once all the members are imported, I am trying to allow certain members to post in the blog by giving them author rights. However, when I do this and log into their account, the wordpress bar doesn’t show up. I’ve even tried to make them administrators, and it still doesn’t show up.
I’ve tried everything, I know it should be a simple fix, but no matter how I change people’s roles, the only people that can ever access the backend are myself and the original administrator.

Anyone have any ideas of what I’m missing?

  • Hi –

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Can you share the site address with me here so I can take a closer look?

Also, are you looking to move your site on to WordPress.com? Or use the WordPress installation?

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

In order to use a membership plugin on WordPress.com you’ll need to upgrade to our business plan. That information is here:
