Admin bar question
-
The only thing on my Admin Bar I don’t understand is the icon next to “New Post” that looks like a comment bubble. Clicking it opens a drop-down window and at least on my Mac a system icon that just spins, waiting for something to happen…that doesn’t. Initially this icon was gray…but now it’s orange. Thanks for any help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Larry,
That is a notifications button
https://wordpress.com/#!/notifications/
See here http://en.support.wordpress.com/notifications/
Are you running a browser and version of it found here? http://browsehappy.com -
Yes…the latest version of Firefox, version 21. I have AdBlocker invoked…do you think that might be stopping it?
-
Maybe. I’m not running Fireox 21 but I’m not running AdBlock Plus.
Try disabling all browser extensions and add-ons. -
YIKES! I said “I’m not running Firefox 21” but that was a mistake. I am running Firefox 21 but I am not running AdBLock Plus.
-
Yup…was just thinking I should do that and enable them one at a time. Thanks.
Actually, after you mentioned a few days in a post that you were using Firefox I thought I’d try it again (after many years of not using it). I’ve been very impressed…it’s come a long way. It still doesn’t seem quite as fast as Chrome, but I think I’ll keep it as the default for other reasons.
I’ll let you know if one of the extensions is the culprit.

Now that’s really odd. First, I just realized I hadn’t installed AdBlock yet (but I will)…just thought I was as I’ve been using it on Chrome forever.
But just now I clicked on the Notifications button and it displayed recent notifications, as it should. Oh, well…must have been just stuck the couple of other times I tried it. Thanks again!

That’s great news. You are up and running now and that’s what counts. Yes, Chrome is fast but when it comes to reliability I choose Firefox every time.
-
…and it’s a bit more elegant, not to mention that for some reason text appears more black against white pages. Chrome’s black text is more of a dark grey, and when the same two pages, same fonts, are compared side-by-side…Firefoxe wins hands down.
