Admin bar / sidebar no longer visible on home page

    Hello,

    I am using Able theme, which has been working like a charm with no problems… until today.
    After my most recent post, the admin bar is no longer visible at the top of the page and the sidebar with widgets has disappeared – but both of these issues are only for the home page. All other pages display normally.
    Additionally, I am no longer able to edit my home page through Themes > Customise, editor is unresponsive. Any thoughts? Do I need to restore default settings for the theme? Swapping to a new theme and back again did not resolve. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thank you, that’s great info and I spent some good time looking through it and poring over the HTML of my most recent post (likely culprit).

    I am still very new to this so there is nothing beyond basic HTML used in my post… however, I was unable to find anything that looked out of place as suggested by the linked pages. Perhaps it’s in the images I used? I could always try removing/re-adding those if it might help.

    Additionally, I am still experiencing problems with customizing my theme :(
    No longer able to edit widgets in live preview + the little blue (with a pencil icon in it) edit icons have disappeared.

    Your site’s sidebar is appearing in the right place for me, and I can see the admin bar on your site. Your site’s customizer also works normally on my end. So it could be that the problem is local to your computer.

    Can you please try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then log back in and see if that makes any difference?

    Hey! Now that I’ve checked in on it this morning, everything looks like it’s working great again. Not sure what went on yesterday – tried both of those steps yesterday to no avail – but looks like all is well now.

  • Thanks for letting me know it’s working for your as well. It might have been a browser issue that cleared itself up when the cache refreshed on its own.
