Admin details held hostage
-
I’m posting on behalf of my employer.
Our company has quite a few WP sites. They have been set up and linked to the domain names that are in our name.
Up until now we haven’t had a use for the WordPress sites, but we do now and would like to start using them.
However, the sites were set up by a former external consultant (we’re in a dispute, but are still out of court), with his credentials/email address, and he now refuses to hand over this information. Ideally we like to avoid taking him to court over this.I’ve tried to submit an account recovery form, but I just get a ‘403-forbidden’ page.
I am able to provide WP with Companies House registration documents and / or get them in contact with the managing director.
But any and all communication with regards to registration has been sent to the consultant’s email address, so we do not have access to any API keys, the sites have not been upgraded, and there are no drafts or pages, since the sites have not yet been used.Is it possible to regain control?

It honestly sounds like you’re in the wrong forum and need to be at WordPress.org, but without the URLs of the sites, neither volunteers nor staff can say, so we cannot help you.

I apologise, it seems I’ve ended up in the wrong forum.
Since all of the sites are not active/have no content (hello world), it seemed irrelevant to me to list them in the first post.
Just in case it does make a difference, on of the sites in question is furnitureinpine.co.ukI’ll move to WP.org forums now

Yes, you do need to be over there from what I can see http://www.whoishostingthis.com/furnitureinpine.co.uk
