admin email change

  In addition to LileDesign, I assist with a non-profits website as I am their board chair. The administrative email address has unexpectedly been changed to include ‘www.’ in the address. I went to the website and changed it last night and was told that the change would not take place until i verified it using the email that was being sent to the new address. I have not received this email yet…how long does it take?

  Hi there,

  Of what site are you speaking? I don’t see any recent email changes for the WordPress.com account you’re using to post here.

  Email addresses are also account-specific on WordPress.com, not site-specific, so if you changed the email for a specific site you’re instead using the open source WordPress software. You can find support for that version of WordPress at https://wordpress.org/support/

  If you’re referring to the admin contact email for the domain you’re using for your site, you need to contact your domain provider for help, as that is controlled by their system.

  I am referencing the site http://www.palsatlanta.org. The site was set up with (email visible only to moderators and staff) as the email address and now it is showing as (email visible only to moderators and staff). It should be (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  Hi there, it looks like you are using WordPress but you are not hosted here at WordPress.com. palsatlanta.org is hosted at Godaddy. These forums are for those hosted here at WordPress.com.

  For self-hosted WordPress sites such as yours, I would suggest asking for help in the volunteer-based WordPress.org forums. With a bad email address that you cannot access, the procedure to change that email address is a bit complicated.
