admin email verification problem
-
I paid a company called White Shark Media to build my website over 7 years ago. I want to change the admin email address and when I put the new email address in it sends me a verification email. I receive the verification email but it says in the body of the email
Howdy admin,
You recently requested to have the email address on your account changed.
If this is correct, please click on the following link to change it:
The problem is that when I click that link it takes me to this website
https://sso.secureserver.net/login?app=email&realm=pass
and then asks me for a login and a password to something I do not have. And you can see in the beginning of the link it says ‘white shark media’ So Im assuming it is the email address to this company that I no longer employ and when I have called the company personally it has gotten me nowhere. They tell me they will call me back and I never hear from them and honestly it has been so long that I doubt they even have those login credentials anymore.
What can I do??? Please Help!!
I look forward to your response.
Thanks
-Christopher Lynch

Hi Christopher,
Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed hosting.
To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions.
Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at your current host. As a result, we do not have access to your site and are not familiar with the source of your issue.
My recommendation is to reach out to your hosting provider, which appears to be Siteground. They should be able to help you recover access to your site. Alternatively, you can post at the open-source WordPress forums. The folks in that forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues and are in the best position to help.
Once you have resolved this, you definitely have the option to move your site to us so we can provide in-house help.
