What happened to my WP Admin/Dashboard? It’s disappeared! I prefer using it when writing my drafts.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As is mine.
I know I can get to it via a direct URL, but why is it no longer available in the menu?
PLEASE BRING IT BACK, WP!
-
I would rather have it in the menu than direct URL. Is it coming back? It’s much more convenient for me.

Hi folks, we don’t typically show the WP Admin link to newer users, since two interfaces can be confusing, and the newer interface is much more consistent with our apps.
But those of you who started here while WP Admin was the primary interface should still see a link — it’s just at the bottom now, again, for more consistency across pages and apps. I realize that shift probably feels inconsistent right now, but hopefully those of you who have seen the link at the top in some context and at the bottom in others will appreciate this change.
If you mainly use WordPress.com in a browser, you can create a bookmark in your browser toolbar for fastest access. I hope that helps. Thanks for your understanding!

Thanks for the note, supernovia.
I know the link to WP Admin had shifted to the bottom. I had recognized that weeks ago. But yesterday it was most definitely gone.
Today it is available again–thank you!–but on only one of the sites I manage. (My main or primary account.) The other two still do not show a link to WP Admin, whether at the top or the bottom of the available menu.
Is there a way I can get that restored? Or opt to have it turned on?
-
Yes!!! I want to find someway to restore the wp admin, that has disappeared on my blog too!!! There are some changes on my blog that I only can do through that plugin. I am in a very difficult situation now… :/
If someone find a solution for this problem, please share it with me! :'(

For my theme I need that admin page to mark my posts sticky (they won’t work properly in my carousel if I mark them as sticky elsewhere). Kind of annoying to have to search for the solution…
-
Supernovia suggested creating a bookmark in your browser toolbar to simplify access. (URL: blogname.wordpress.com/wp-admin/)
This isn’t a bad idea–and, in fact, I’ve done so in case the WP Admin link isn’t fully restored–but I’d like to point out to the WP folks that this solves the problem only if I’m working from the same computer every time. Otherwise, I must remember the URL, which, while not difficult, still is one more thing to hold in my brain that I’d rather rely on technology to address.

@markpants can you open a new thread? Sticky should work whether you do it via wp-admin or Calypso.
If anyone on this thread is not seeing the wp-admin link at the bottom right now, who did see it before, please comment. Make sure you are logged into the correct account, so I can check that account for you. Thank you!
-
Thanks @maryannleonard, I’ll pass that suggestion along. If you are missing the link for some sites but not others, can you let me know which ones so I can check that for you?
-
-
Thanks @garyloggins, I logged in as you and you’re correct: it is missing in one area. Sorry about that! We’re investigating that, since the idea was to give you a more consistent experience.
For what it’s worth, if you’re viewing your site and click “My Site” you should still be able to see it there, at the bottom.

—–For what it’s worth, if you’re viewing your site and click “My Site” you should still be able to see it there, at the bottom.—–Supernovia found a way to locate our wayward WP-ADMINS LINK.
Once I located my wayward link , I went to top of google page and copied the “https://vernspad.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ “and went to my ABOUT page and typed “OLD DASHBOARD-WP-ADMINS”
I then highlighted text “OLD DASHBOARD-WP-ADMINS” and made a link to “OLD DASHBOARD-WP-ADMINS”. Voila, I have a link in my ABOUT page to my wayward LINK.
ABOUT is the name of one my three PAGES. Your page name could be XYZ . “vernspad” is the name of my site. just replace “vernspad” with the name of your web site and you have the address of your wayward link. copy it and do what I did. Sorry it is hard to tell you what I did. In the mean time we need to wait for the WordPress programer this into their wordpress editing menu.

Well my link is no longer at the bottom of the “My Site’ menu. The last item on the menu is settings. It used to be under that. I’m not very technical and I don’t understand instructions about changing URl etc.
It’s very frustrating and driving me crazy. Hopefully you can put it back the way it was. Thanks -
I just checked again and it seems to be back!!! I’ll log out and try to log back in and see if it’s still there.

just write “wp-admin” after the name of your site
like: nameofyourblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin
and you will get to the missing page, the wp-admin
