admin page problem
-
My blog at aluwishes.wordpress.com is not letting log onto the adminstration page. When I click on the choice I get these buttons:
Dashboard Write Manage Comments Profile Options Upgrade
I have tried clicking on each one and none of them take me to the admin page that lets me choose Presentation. The blog name is OutofthePast. I have two other blogs under my log in name and both allow to get to an Admin page that shows the Presentation button. Anyone have an explanation or clue as how to solve this problem? -

@rhbee
Try this link http://aluwishes.wordpress.com/wp-admin
Also note that if you have placed the Meta widget in your sidebar you have another option for loggin in. -
D’oh, sorry. Obviously I have difficulty reading for comprehension.
Try clearing your cookies and browser cache and reloading the dashboard page. Sometimes that solves the problem. We have been getting reports of dashboard weirdness, though.

I tried the link you suggested and got the same result. I also tried getting to it using the metalink but that gets me to the same place. I have two concerns about clearing the cookies. One, wont this remove the contacts that have been set up using those cookies and thus eliminate a means of communication with links I have established. Two, since the other two blogs aren’t experiencing this problem even though I am reaching them through the shared dashboard, why would this be a solution?

1) yes, that’s exactly what it’s for.
2) it just sometimes works. It’s flukey. If you try it and it doesn’t work, contact staff.

For cookies:
– download a cookie manager if you are using Internet Explorer. There are free ones
or
– use Firefox which allows you to delete cookies one by one. -
Well, I deleted the cookies and the situation stayed the same. I can’t admister to my blog. So now what?

I use Explorer and I know that Firefox is all the rage but I don’t see how this could possibly be a solution since one of my blogs (justfordancers) has the admin page and the other one (aluwishes) suddenly doesn’t have the original admin but some truncated version of it. Downloding Firefox just to test an idea when I am totally satisfied with Explorer doesn’t seem sensible either since it means I just have to deinstall it.

Then, if you don’t want to download Firefox, try the first option Mark gave you:
