Admin pages freezing. Image window goes blank.

1) When creating a post and trying to add an image, the image window will freeze, or go completely blank. This problem is random but tends to happen after I’ve been working on the post for a while. But it’s also happened at the start, with even the text editor page going blank. This has gone on for a while.
2) Tried looking at followers today through the admin sidebar/dashboard and that page froze as well. Would only show the first 24 followers. Couldn’t click on any other items on the page or in the dashboard.
I cleared my browser cache, logged out and back in on WP, but the admin page for followers still froze. Just checked the other admin pages and now nothing is showing up.
“Failed to retrieve comments” and “There was an error retrieving users.” comes up on the respective pages. Media is blank except for the toolbars. What is going on? How do we fix it? Thanks in advance.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Strikebuys. Thanks for replying. Yes, cleared cache. Went back & cleared all cookies. Using Chrome, which is up to date. Restarted ‘puter. Logged out of WP, back in. Checked it on MS Edge browser. Seemed ok but I didn’t go through all pages. Went back to Chrome (default browser). Seemed ok. Pages were back to normal, except page for people/followers. Still hangs then all I can do is scroll through newest 25 followers. After hang, no other buttons function on that page, including dashboard and toolbar at the top.

Chrome should be able to handle it just right. When you say it’s struggling when scrolling through 25 followers, it is definitely strange.
I am leaving this thread to the staff. I see that “modlook” has already been added to this. They should be able to have a look at your account and see if it’s something that’s affecting your account, or suggest further from there.

Hi there,
Can you please try disabling any extensions you may have active on Chrome and try again? Extensions like ad-blockers or security-related ones can cause those freezes on Chrome.

Hi fstat. Thanks so much for replying! Ok. Now that I am down this rabbit hole, this is what I’ve done so far (today):
Disabled extensions one at a time with/without signing in/out.
Disabled ALL extensions at the same time. The only thing that changed was that I could scroll the first 25 followers without a hang. But, still all buttons in dashboard and toolbar were disabled. And the page ends at the first 25. Restarted computer at various intervals.
Disabled virus/internet protection plus disabled all extensions at the same time- same result.
The only light bulb moment I’ve gotten is when I checked the follower page on my desktop. Which it worked fine on there. Scrolled through all of the followers, no hang/freeze, all buttons worked. Desktop has same browser, virus protection, extensions (all were on). So this problem is isolated to my laptop for some reason. Which of course is what I use the most for WP. I’d appreciate any help you could offer! -
This is some pretty extensive troubleshooting!
Looks like there’s something wrong with your installation of Chrome. I suggest to backup your bookmarks (if any) and do an uninstall/re-install of Chrome by following the official instructions here:

The image window is still coming up blank when I’ve been on the editor for a while. It works for a while then when I go back to get another image, they’re all gone. The buttons work, but no pics. I have to exit WP then open it back up to continue. (No log out.)
Images show up on the dashboard no problem. Sigh. -
