  I have just started a blog today and I am the single user; however I do not seem to be able to admin my blog.
  How do I logon as Admin?

  If you have started a blog and you are the single user, then you also are the admin. If you are the blog owner, you are the admin. The login is no different.

  BUT I am not getting any options to use a theme.

  You cannot use an external theme on a WordPress.com blog. We can only choose the themes available under Appearance->Themes.

  Why don’t you give us the URL of your blog starting with http and we can check it out? It’s possible you chose the option only to get a username, in which case you need to register a blog.
