Why are there ads on my blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There have been ads on our blogs since 2006 and if we read the ToS before clicking the _ I read the ToS and want an blog button then we know that. Would you like to eliminate them? It’s possible to do so.

To off-set the costs of providing free hosting to millions of bloggers, WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read the advertising entry http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/ in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all.

Note to eliminate all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs we can purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.

Yes…I very much would like to eliminate them. I actually had 3 readers tell me the ad they saw on my blog was offensive to women. Is it possible to see a list of the criteria you use to select your advertisers?

No that’s not possible what is possible is taking and posting screenshot of any so-called inappropriate ad, uploading it to your Media Library, and returning to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.

To the Support Team @ WordPress.com,
Tonight, my husband was reading my blog (beingwovenzephaniah317.wordpress.com) only to find a Coors beer YouTube ad at the bottom. He has never before seen an ad on my blog. Yes, I did- not
read the TOS as I should have.
My questions are: 1. A Coors Beer ad on a Christian blog…I call that inappropriate. Would you?
2. If I purchase the No-Ads Upgrade, will that wipe out that ad from the blog post running currently or does it leave whatever has been run up until I purchase the upgrade?

2) once the No Ads Upgrade is purchased the ads go away from your blog for one year

There is no ability for any blogger here to dictate which ads will be placed on their blogs.
Volunteers don’t answer questions like the first one. If we did we would be hard pressed not to remark on how many Christian bloggers for example on blogspot (Blogger) are running advertising on their blogs and profiting from it.
The upgrade is, of course, not effective until one actually purchases it.
