  Where do these ads come from? Can I stop them from being posted?

  WordPress.com has been displaying ads on our free hosted blogs since 2006. This is stated in the ToS we had to agree to to get a free blog, in support documentation, and on the features page. The only way to be rid of them is to purchase a No-Ads upgrade.
