Ads. From free to paid WordPress?

Please, someone clear up some confusion on a topic I’ve spent a lot of time trying to research!

If I have a free WordPress blog, and I want to upgrade it to a blog where I can have more flexibility (namely, post my own revenue-generating ads) and run java widgets, etc. is that possible? I don’t want to build traffic on a blog only to have to start over on a site that will allow ads. I love WordPress, am willing to pay for an upgrade, and don’t want to resort to (*gasp*) Blogger!

Much thanks in advance for any responses!

You would have to self-host using the software from wordpress.org, or find another webhost that allows ads.

I answered you in the other thread you posted in by the way.

At this time, there is no upgrade available to what you want. You can go the route of getting your own host and installing the free software from wordpress.org

What you’re describing is self-hosting, which is not a paid upgrade at wordpress.com. You would have to hire a host and have your blog there, but would still have the free WordPress software to run it and themes (many more to choose from) to work with your needs.

Lots of good information about this at http://wordpress.org

Are there free webhosts that I can use for me to be able to add ads on my blog, and on how am I be able to direct it to my wordpress blog?
    Thanks.

Yes, but you need to ask over at WordPress.org, as that’s not something we deal with here.

How are you able to direct your offsite blog to your WordPress.com blog? You can’t. You have to start over.
