Ads – internet explorer
-
My website works fine when viewed in chrome or firefox, but my students noticed when in internet explorer, ad links are appearing. I’m not sure what to do.
They found it on this page:

Try viewing it in Chrome, then switch to IE and you’ll see what I mean.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, I took a look at that link in Chrome and IE and didn’t see the ad links you mentioned.
Can you provide a screenshot of the ad links you see? You can upload screenshots to your Media Library under Media > Add New in your dashboard, or you can use an online service such as Snaggy.
Also, please note that it’s possible for ads to appear in your browser that were not placed there by WordPress.com. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser.
These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads:

The website is still showing ads. I took a screenshot as you suggested and posted it to my media. I checked for malware and found nothing and I’m only running one extension and have been running it for a while and the ads never appeared. Please let me know what you might find.

Hi Tabor – That is one of our ads. We sometimes display advertisements on WordPress.com sites, in order to keep free features free. We try to make the ads discreet and only run them in limited places. If you would like to completely eliminate ads from appearing on your blog, we offer the No-Ads Upgrade:
http://support.wordpress.com/no-ads/I think Rachel was initially confused because you mentioned ad links – we don’t insert link-based ads, and when users report seeing those, it’s because they’re being inserted by some browser extension. But the videos that sometimes show at the bottom of single-post pages are ours.
