Ads on Blog

  I find it really annoying that I’ve paid for the upgrade to keep ads off my blog, and then WordPress sticks this ad on my dashboard (“Want to stand out from the crowd? Buy a premium theme”), and leaves it there for weeks. Worse yet, their “premium themes” are terrible.

  Yeah, seeing that in the dashboard all the time is annoying, but obviously staff do not consider that an “ad” even though others might. Funny how things look different from different perspectives. From the BBQ perspective, not an ad.

  Oh, I think they know darn well that it’s an ad. That’s why it’s there, and they’ve kept it stick up there for so long.

  It’s replaced every time a new post is published on the official wordpress.com blog. And IMO these “buy this or buy that notices” are easy to ignore. ;)
