Ads on wordpress

    Ads have begun to appear on one of my wordpress sites. How can I tell if they are placed there by wordpress or some other entity? How can I get rid of them?

    Hi shortfiction134b,

    Ads are displayed on sites using the Free plan and this helps cover the cost of the free features we offer. However, they won’t be displayed on kenwetherington2016.wordpress.com now are using a paid plan.

    How can I tell if they are placed there by wordpress or some other entity?
