Ads Problem

The ads listed on my pages directly go against what my blog is about! I review subscription boxes and offer affiliate referrals. The ads people can click on that you provide are directing viewers to the site I’m promoting. It looks as if I have placed the ad therefore viewers click the ad instead of my links. It completely goes against what I’m doing! It’s just messed up on so many levels! I understand ads are going to be there but I’m basically promoting for someone else.

Sometimes, we display advertisements on WordPress.com sites, in order to keep free features free. We try to make the ads discreet and to only run them in limited places.

How is it discreet when I do a birchbox post and you put a birchbox ad at the bottom of my page? Discreet would be placing and ad for something completely different.

The ads are cookie-targeted so they’ll appear different for each user. If you’ve recently visited Birchbox, it’s entirely possible that you’re being targeted with Birchbox ads based on your cookie history.
