Hi there, I don’t see any ads at https://pattywoo.wordpress.com/
Would you please take a screenshot of what you see and upload it via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard so we can take a look?
Here’s how to make a screenshot: https://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
Please note that it’s possible for ads to appear in your browser that were *not* placed there by WordPress.com. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser.
These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads:

read the links you sent. computer behaving this way on other sites, especially Amazon. Recently downloaded some software from net. seemed like reputable sites but . . .
Read about Adware and others. I have a Mac. Do you have a recommended malware removal source?
Thanks for your help. -
Yeah, that definitely sounds like malware. One a Mac, it’s usually in a browser extension (if you’re using Safari or Chrome) or add-on (if you’re using Firefox).
Try temporarily disabling all of your browser’s extensions/add-ons, then clear your browser’s cache. If the issue goes away, re-enable each extension/add-on individually until you find the one causing the problem.

Well, I read the articles and went to activity monitor but didn’t find Mac Defender or those other “mac” helper apps in the monitor.
Then went to Applications and found MacKeeper and tossed it in trash and emptied trash. No help.
Just turned off extensions in Safari but still get the pop up ads in Amazon as well as link in my blog.
Any other ideas up your sleeve?
Appreciate your help. -
see the same pop ups in Firefox as well. Torch seems to have been spared from the malware assault. Chrome comes up with offer to clean my computer with MacKeeper which I tossed. Hmmmmmmm?
Ideas? -
Oh yeah, those are definitely MacKeeper.
Zeobit has been accused of employing misleading advertising with regards to its promotion of MacKeeper, including aggressive affiliate marketing, pop-under ads and planting sockpuppet reviews as well as websites set up to discredit their competitors.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacKeeper#Criticism_of_marketing_techniques
MacKeeper uses scare ads that appear as “pop-under” ads on web sites, telling people to clean their Macs. The pop-under business is the first thing I really don’t like about MacKeeper. Quite frankly, I think it’s a real bottom-feeder technique and a really low-class way to do business, and it tells me that they’re not concerned with what people think of them.

MacKeeper is a bit complicated to remove, its own uninstaller conveniently leaves behind the helper app which does all the damage.
You can completely remove it following these guides: http://www.macworld.com/article/2861435/how-to-uninstall-mackeeper-from-your-mac.html and http://www.macworld.com/article/2861868/how-to-remove-mackeeper-part-ii-the-pop-up-edition.html
As for what to do after MacKeeper is gone, switch to a nice free open-source anti-virus app, like http://www.clamxav.com/ which has been my personal favorite for almost ten years now.

Thanks for your help. I did as you asked but cannot find the MacHelper file or the NoticeEngine Plug in. I’ve searched the Library folder and the whole computer for either of these, but nothing found.
Ideas? I did not use MacKeeper Uninstall but rather dragged application to trash and emptied trash.
Appreciate your help. Leaving the country on Tuesday and hope to get this fixed by then, -
Hm, if the tips at http://www.macworld.com/article/2861435/how-to-uninstall-mackeeper-from-your-mac.html and http://www.macworld.com/article/2861868/how-to-remove-mackeeper-part-ii-the-pop-up-edition.html and scanning with http://www.clamxav.com/ don’t help out, I’m sadly out of ideas. :(
Maybe ask over at https://discussions.apple.com/ ?

Took computer into Mac shop and they removed all Adware using Bitdefender. All the pop ups from all the internet sites disappeared. For awhile the WordPress page didn’t change but it looks good today.
Thanks so much for all your help. I really felt your support when I was freaking out. I’m impressed with the immediate customer assistance that WordPress gives. -
