Ads suddenly appearing, facebook box dissappeared

  • Unknown's avatar

My facebook like box has suddenly dissappeared, though it still shows as being there in my widgets. In its place are ads, which I never had before and didn’t want. One is only half visible and says it is categorized as…then I can’t see the rest, so I don’t know if MY site is being categorized as something bad or the ad that was there. Anyway, I would really like to remove the ads and get my facebook box back. I added tags to some posts today, would that cause this problem? Thanks if you can help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I also tried adding recommended links for the first time, would that cause the ads?

The site linked to your username is unused ( http://momempowered.wordpress.com/ ). We need a link to the site you are actually talking about please.

We still require an active link starting with http:// to the blog in question. However, please note this if it is a free hosted WordPress.com blog. WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read features page, or advertising entry in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all. The only way to get rid of all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs is to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.

The Facebook Like Box widget found here > Appearance > Widgets is for Facebook fan pages only. If you type in a Facebook profile URL it will not work.
