Ads.txt/Google Adsense Struggles
-
Hello, I am struggling to connect my site to Google AdSense because within WordPress, any method I attempt involving an ads.txt code snippet gives the message of “Existing Ads.txt file found”. I have looked in multiple places within my WordPress account for my site and I cannot find the aforementioned Ads.txt file. I simply went into the code for my site’s theme using the Theme File Editor (I use Income School’s Acabado theme) and put the AdSense code snippet in the universal/general header section (the only place I could find a tag. Just in case that didn’t work, I also put the same AdSense code snippet in the WPCode global header. Hopefully those will suffice, as I cannot find anything else within WordPress that is relevant to what I need to do. I keep getting Ad Manager MCM invitation emails, but when I try to set an Ad Manager account up, I get a message saying that Google is reviewing the application. I am getting repetitive invite emails, but anything I do to try to set up an account for the place I was invited to leads to a roadblock. Currently within Google Adsense it says that the Publisher Id is missing from my site, yet I am struggling to figure out where to put it. I do not know what I am doing in regards to AdSense/Ads.txt. I need someone who knows what they are doing to help me, as I am lost.

Hi @cpcmom
It seems like you are unable to find a ads.txt file for your website. You have to register for a publisher adsense account. After that you have to insert the code into the head section of the file. It seems easy you can do it via a plugin. If you need any information, you can ping me.
Regards!

Hi,
The site you mentioned is not hosted here at WordPress.com, so we’re not able to offer any assistance. You’ll need to contact your current host, which appears to be GoDaddy.
