Adult ads on my blog

In all these years, I’ve only had to complain about inappropriate ads on my blog here once. Today, I find an ad for an adult website with a porn photo. I report it, and another PORN photo for another adult website shows up! It is disgusting! The ads show up on my cell phone, but not my laptop. That is even more disgusting that WordPress is pulling a fast one on members. NOBODY should have to PAY for respect, but WordPress want members to pay for an upgrade to remove ads. Disgusting way to treat people!

  • Oh dear! All of our ads should have a “Report this Ad” link on them. Did you happen to click that?

If that isn’t available, could you send this info?

    – A full screenshot (You can upload to your media library: https://wordpress.com/media )
    – A link to the page the add was on
    – Your IP address for the affected device
    – Your browser / Operating system
    – The time and date the ad appeared

We’ll get that reported to the ads team.

I clicked report this ad on both of the adult advertisments, for different websites.
I read on the Forums, buy the upgrade to remove ads or else adult content ads can be posted. I then put my blogs on Private, exported content, and deleted except for one blog.

I understand that links can be highjacked. However, two such adult ads showing up only on my cell phone doesn’t feel right, I question why the One time I used that cell phone to check my blog, do I happen to see adult ads. I have no way of knowing how long those ads were there.

Note, I reopened my blog to Public this morning. The adult ad was still there! I click on report the ad. Thus, my blog is back on Private!

Please note that, while we run ads on free sites to keep them free: https://wordpress.com/support/no-ads/ we do not run adult content ads.

With that said, it’s always possible some slipped past the ad brokers that we’re trusting (whom we’ll of course have a very stern talk with), so if you see an offensive ad, please do report it via the “Report This Ad” link below the ad, or by submitting the form at https://wordpress.com/support/about-these-ads/

To expedite the report, please follow the steps my colleague mentioned earlier: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/adult-ads-on-my-blog-2/#post-3578006

To remove ads, simply purchase any paid plan: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
