adult vs mature websites

  Hello I was reading the rules in regarding adult websites and I was wondering if you could clear up a couple things for me.

  Can I build an adult website using wordpress and host it elsewhere? Or is that not permitted? If it is allowed, do I still report my website as a mature site?

  Jetpack: No
  Correct account: Yes

  Thanks for reaching out. The Mature Content guidelines only apply to websites hosted here at WordPress.com. To avoid any confusion, it’s important to distinguish between three different versions of “WordPress”:

  1. The free, open-source WordPress software that powers your website.
  2. WordPress.org, the open-source project where you can obtain the software for free to use on your chosen hosting provider.
  3. WordPress.com, a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software, which is the platform you are currently contacting.

  If your site content is prohibited by our guidelines, then you cannot host your site here at WordPress.com. Hosting your site elsewhere, the WordPress software itself does not have those restrictions, but you may need to make sure that the company you choose to host the site allows this type of content.
