Advanced search : how to build it (in a page)

    I would like to build an advanced search in my page “ricette”.
    I woul like to have dropdown menus, tick boxes, in order to search through my site.
    I would like to build something similar to the advanced search you find in http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes.

    I have understood the way display-posts works, but this is not i want as is the result of a selection I did. I want in this page the user to select through categories, tags.
