I have been directed to the instructions :
Enable and Disable Comments for Published Posts and Pages
https://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-and-disable-comments-for-published-posts-and-pages/But the layout on my screen is totally different to shown on the instructions. I cannot find the ‘advanced settings’. I only have ‘settings’ but cannot find in here anything like shown on the instructions. Can you help me please as I need to make these changes to my pages. Many thanks, Gail

Hi Gail!
If you want to disable your comments for a previously published post, you can start by opening a post in your editor. For instance, you can click below:
https://wordpress.com/post/81279293/56/?optinIn the column on the left-hand side of the page, you’ll see all your setup options. Scroll down until you see this:
https://cloudup.com/cRmOxH4DD0RYour Advanced Settings are there.
Under “Discussion,” you will see that you have the ability to de-select the Comments option. Just make sure you click Update to save your change!
If you’re using the black/gray version of the editor to edit your Pages (rather than the blu editor), you will see the Discussion module beneath the content box. For instance, open a page by clicking below:
https://comboholidaysblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1&action=editScroll down until you see:
https://cloudup.com/cIPFFEHYcZUThis is where you can turn off your comments on previously published pages.
I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!
