Advanced Toolbar Help

Add topic to favorites
Ok…so my editor at the moment only has one line of buttons. I’ve been trying to change it into the advanced toolbar but to no avail. I’ve looked at heaps of posts on the same subject, each one saying that the toolbar button is on the furthest to the right but I’ve been searching and searching but nothing I’ve tried has been right. Could some1 plz tell me which button to press and which page I should be on???

Are you working in the html or visual editor?

html i think…it’s really basic…i cant change colour

You want to be in the visual editor for the advanced toolbar. Click on the tab above the editing box. Then you should see more icons appearing. The one at the far right with a series of lines and dots is the one which will open up the whole toolbar.

tab? sorry but there are no tabs above my editing box. It’s the page that says Add New Post right?

or there’s a button on the edit post page which has lines and dots cept when I hover over it it says “List View”…and when I click it, nothing happens.

Yes, it’s that page. On the top right, just above the editing box there are two tabs. One says visual and the other says html. You need to click visual.

In the visual editor, you need the last button on the right. When you hover over it, it says ‘Show/hide kitchen sink’. If you can’t find the button, you can also use the keyboard shortcut: ALT + SHIFT + Z

Oh no TT… i was just checking out my friends add new post page…and i dont have those two tabs. on my page, there’s just blankness. i wish i could show you a pic…but it just says…upload/insert, then thjose 5 buttons and theres no tabs.

Go to users > your profile and deselect “Disable the visual editor when writing” and then update the profile.
