Advantage of Domain Name through Word Press rather than sevice providerehr ?
-
I am starting a new blog. I have not really used Word Press before. However, I am a web designer. I have many domain names registered with Go Daddy.
What is the advantage of getting a domain name from Word Press rather than from a service provider ?
I am open to either, just wanting to understand.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Well, have you seen http://nodaddy.com? There are some real horror stories with them. A friend of mine who is with yet a different host was just told that because she moved the hosting, but not the domain, the domain renewal fee would now be $300 per year.
The only horror story I’ve heard of about WP.com domain management happened over last winter when some renewal notices didn’t get sent out. Otherwise, they’re terrific and very low-cost. I have my own external site’s domain through WP.com for this reason.

Thanks. I was wondering if there was another advantage besides cheap. Support ? Functionality ?

Reliability. I know I can trust these people not to jack up the price or suddenly go out of business.

@RC – Nodaddy.com got shut down – seems Godaddy bought it
